Interview with Scott
JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Scott: Yes. there was phone access beginning
approximately at 8:00am until about 10:00pm for
15 minutes increments at a time.
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Scott: Calls cost $1.35 each regardless of how much of
the 15mnutes you used.
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Scott: No I didnt buy phones cards. My friends and
family setup an account on their phones so I
could call without using money from my commisary
account.
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Scott: Yes at the beginning of each call there was a
message that stated that calls would be recorded
but we had the freedom to call whomeve we wanted
without asking for permission forst as long as
it was within the alotted times and we werent on
lockdown.
