Interview with Jon, Sabrina, Ronchie Boy, Gary, Lance, Seth, Liz, Nate, Duane and Aaron
JM: How often could you receive visitors? Jon: 3 a week Sabrina: i was not allowed visitors but i think one hour
a week Ronchie Boy: Don't know, didn't want any. Gary: I never received any visitors so I dont remember
I think it was once a day Lance: Often... you just have to plan ahead.... Seth: Me personally, i didnt get visitors ever, on top of
that you had to set your visits ahead of time to
even have them. Liz: 3 days a week but only during set times that you
had to "kite" to set up. Nate: 3 times a week an they can't just show up you have to
scheduql it Duane: I think it was twice a week over video. it was
hard to remember to look at the camera and not
the moniter. Aaron: You can have 3 visits a week scheduled a week in
advanced. I was only there 60 days so I didn't
need any visitors. It's all video visits too,
which is so impersonal at least to me.
JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you? Jon: not really 15 min Ronchie Boy: no clue Gary: I remember hearing that it was pretty bad from
other inmates as i can exlpain in the next
answer (it was all via video confernce) Lance: I didn't want to set up Visits... so I wouldn't
know.. Seth: I dont really know if it was or not. as far as im
concerned it probably was. i didnt see anyone get
any visits until i went to trustee. Liz: not really, they just had to go to the desk in
visitation and fill out the form with your
information and show there Id. then they would
take you into a cubicle. Nate: Coukd visit for an hour unless you had a cool guard but that
was very often but ya an hour was the max to see them Duane: heck how would I know? I was not on that side. no
one said anything to cause me to think so. I
could ask my mother though... Aaron: N/A
JM: What was the visiting environment like? Jon: sucks its all on video. Ronchie Boy: It's over a video phone Gary: well agaian it was all video conferencing the
feeds were all ways messed up the wrong persons
ect. other inmates would stand behind you and
listen to every thing you and your visitor said
and did it was really no different than a phone
call in my mind unless you wanted to see a child Lance: Its like a TV.. you just speak on a phone and
the other person shows up on a screen... Seth: the visiting environment was very awkward and i
think that it was only because i had been used to
the glass between me and the other person in king
county. it was kind of complicated keeping focuse
because of the video visits. and people hear your
conversations. i dont know, i just know that
personally i just didnt like it. Liz: you could only see your visitors thro a triple
glass partition or on a moniter and comunicate
through phone hand sets, so depending on what
booth you were in you were able to see the person
thru dirty glass or on on a moniter, never face to
face, and most cubicle hand sets were very hard to
hear your visiter / and or see them very well. Nate: A crappy little cell that looked like its been there 100 years
coukd always hear people crying an it was sad always had to
wait for the guard to let u out of it I had to wait 2 hours one
timeit just was disgustingit just was disgustingI never want to
do that again no fun I can tell you that Duane: it was a video camera conference. small room.
guards would forget you were locked in them and I
would miss meals sometimes. even though the food
sucked, after a while it still was needed.
amazing what is good when you have nothing. a
crappy cup of instant coffe was gold in there Aaron: All video, not very personal.
