Inmates

Interview with edward, Joe and Beebs

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
edward: i got along fine with everybody but my first time i was in there i saw a guy drag another gur off of his bunk and he hit him about ten times before the guards got there
Joe: only a couple times... yea if you stay to yourself you will be fine but some inmates just want to cause trouble. and if you end up in the cellblock with all the lummis and your not one of them they will try to take anything of yours. but you just have to say no.
Beebs: Greasy lummi indians were in there. Fuckin idiots. They thought they were tough but always proved themselves wrong. Most of the other inmates were alright

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
edward: me nothing but if wanted to avoid a fight you stick to yourself and always get in the back of the line for meals and the library cart
Joe: pretty much keep to yourself and people you know.
Beebs: Don't avoid fights. Just chill with people you know from the outs and shit

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
edward: i never tried so i don't know
Joe: as a cellmate? no. they give you a cell and thats that.
Beebs: Na they just put you in a cell with a random person
