JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Erik: Yes, oh yeah. Spending time with 50-60 dudes in
one area is hard. There are always fights going
and people messing with you. You would lose
privileges because of other inmates.
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Erik: I really just kept to myself. I got along with
my first cellmate, but after that I didn't like
who they put me with so I kept to myself.
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Erik: No. Not at all.
