Meals

Interview with Craig

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Craig: I got 3 meals a day.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Craig: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest I would give the food about a 3. Absolutely terrible! Pretty much every meal except breakfast had beans and dry cornbread included in the meal. No salt or seasoning on any of the meals. However the food that you could buy from the "store" was good.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Craig: I think breakfast was my favorite. It was pretty constant with one egg, toast, grits and jam. Any meal where it was mostly beans and cornbread was my least favorite

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Craig: Yes we did have a commissary or "store" that we could order snacks from. Certain things were very over priced like peanut butter but other things were regular priced. The Medical pod where I was housed couldn't buy any sweets or candy. The other pods could purchase those items. There was also a $30 limit including hygiene items
