Visitor Policy

Interview with Ralph and Alex

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Ralph: Five days a week for visitors.
Alex: Visiting was everyday except Tuesday and Thursdays. On Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday it was available in the morning and in the evening.

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Ralph: Ten minutes to check in.
Alex: You had to be on the person you was visiting list to visit with a valid ID. The longest part was waiting to get let in.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Ralph: It was 3x4 booth with a glass wall and telephones to talk through.
Alex: They would call your name if you had a visit and you would have to go up the visiting room where there was five visiting booths. There you would have to type in your password for the phone and you would speak on the phone while seeing your visitor through the glass.
