JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Ryan: Rec SoccerMom: at 1200 there is next to nothing to do if you are
not a trustee. Books are scarce to say the least
& t.v. is nearly impossible to watch.
I wrote a LOT of letters & prayed a lot.
Little baker has outside rec. in a concrete area
with super high walls that are fenced in. You can
only see the sky. It's like a dog run but at
least you get fresh air & you can thaw out
because they keep little baker FREEZING COLD. Big
baker was VERY WARM/HOT & NO access to the
outside. NO windows or conept of time. Time
actually passed faster for me at big baker.
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Ryan: Television on all the time SoccerMom: My biggest entertainment was other inmates.
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Ryan: no SoccerMom: uggh! With the starch/carb loaded food & no
exercise almsot everyone gains weight there.
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Ryan: Never SoccerMom: not at all for the first 60+ days. Once I went to
little baker I thin it was 2x a week.
JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Ryan: yes SoccerMom: Once a week. At 1200, sadly most used it as a way
to socialize & see their lovers :( At little
baker it was nice! The chaplain was great!
