JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process: Brandon: I was on the streets up till the sentencing
process. I was granted a unsecuried bond. I lived
my live as normal until the actual sentencing took
places. There was no jail stay for me until I went
into the last court session and received my
sentence, and then I have 2 weeks to report to jail
JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested. Brandon: As stated before, I was never actually arrested.
There were several times they called me and asked
me to come down to answer some questions. The only
time I was ever put in cuffs at all was when I met
them at the station to get arrained. I was put in
cuffs for the trip over, but released when we got
back to my car.
JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall. Brandon: The actual court itself was what I expected. No
one was real mean or derogitory. The only problem
I had was with my own public defender. He lied to
me several times and due to that I received a much
longer sentence then the one I agreed too. He is
the only part of the whole deal that I had and
have problems with. The judge and DA did not speak
as they were above me at all.
JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of? Brandon: I was originally charged with multiply counts of
arson. Most where dropped and I plead guilty to
criminal mischief, What my public defender told me
I was pleading to was CM as a misdemeanor, what I
found out after I was already in state is that he
plead me guilty as a felony. Big difference.
