Visitor Policy

Interview with Virginia and Shaun

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Virginia: Once a week on a certain time and day depending on your last name and so forth.
Shaun: We could receive visitors twice per week if we didn't get into any trouble a

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Virginia: Yes they complained of standing in line for hours and then being searched. Some being turned away because they werent on a list or wasnt wearing the correct thing.
Shaun: I heard the process was not lenghty as far as the jails part but that they would have to wait in line with other people

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Virginia: Not good at all there is a window inbetween you and the vistor and there is no phone you have to talk in holes in the side of the wondow, and you have to share it with another inmate and their visitor.. was too loud to ever hear what my visitor was saying.
Shaun: It was a window with small holes on each side for you to speak to your visitor thru. No phones. It was very hard to hear because of the amount of people in one small space like 20 people are in one small room with like 5 windows. inmates on one side visitors on the other
