If you know somebody in Talladega County Jail you have probably had a hard time trying to find information about the jail online. With only 200-250 inmates at any given time it is a relatively small jail. The jail itself does not have a website with general information though they do provide an inmate roster so you can quickly lookup who is in the jail and what their charges are. For a relatively low-tech website they do have a surprisingly cool feature where you can browse all inmates by charges (click "View complete list of charges"). A female ex-inmate reports that if people are having problems with each other in this county jail they will be willing to shuffle you around rather than risk a fight breaking out. This is in contrast to pretty much any prison where violence is commonplace (in male and female facilities). Contacting an inmate Pretty much the only way to contact an inmate in Talladega County Jail is to either show up for a visit or send a letter. After the inmate has some money on their books they are able to fund a prepay account and make outgoing phone calls. Continue to the interview |
