Interview with Regina

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Regina: I had a fake receipt. I took stolen items to a customer service desk and was getting money back. I got caught doing that at 6:48pm and around 7:30 I was processing in to the jail. I was caught by the building security.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Regina: No, see above.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Regina: I went to court on Sept 28 and I was told my next court date wasn't until January. Basically since I didn't live in the state I was considered a flight risk. What I ended up doing was I wrote the judge, the prosecutor, and everybody that this was my first crime. I was working with 2 other people who were the masterminds. I stayed in jail waiting on my court date so I could get out.

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Regina: Felony theft and felony identity deception were my charges. The plea deal was no time served and I was only convicted of felony theft.
