Pre-sentencing

Interview with Sara

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Sara: i was arrested and released on a signiture bond and put on pre trial i had to call once a day between certain time frame to hear the color for that day if it was mine i had till end of day to arrive to the jail for a drug test

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Sara: yes i did for a annonimous call about my kids they came by early afternoon and found no issues i know for a fact i did not have drugs or paraphanilia in my house when i went to sleep but they came back later that night for the same thing and in two min recovered two meth pipes

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Sara: i was automatically judged and did not have the oppertunity to to be heard or explain i lost my kids and was treated unfairly i wasnt allowed to know the nAME of the person who made the call to cps and the cops i was charged with possesion just becuase the apartment was in my name and child neglect for having no electricity even though i was applying for help and had all but hundred to pay my bill and they still wouldnt work with me

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Sara: original charges were felony possession of meth and child neglect
