JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
April: i didnt have access to telephones in isolation
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
April: the phone system there is a scam for the city to
make money.to call a cell phone the person on the
outside must pay a $50 deposit first, and all of
the calls are collect. they charge like $7.00 a
minute
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
April: I dont know because i didnt make any calls but
probably so because the county jail had phone
cards
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
April: they can listen to all your calls
