Leisure Time

Interview with Katherine

JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time?
Katherine: Gym, library, church, the yard, and school

JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details.
Katherine: It depends on what it was. Sometimes alot of people showed up and sometimes not. I went to Zumba and sometimes there was alot of people. You just waited around to other people got sick of excersing and left taking their place.

JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail?
Katherine: Nope, the food was nasty and all I ate was bread and ramen noodles. Plus, I did zumba, yoga, insanity workout, and walked around the yard.

JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise?
Katherine: Everyday between count times

JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held?
Katherine: Yes, they were held in the chapel. Mostly nights when the volunteers could come in
