Inmates

Interview with Alicia

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Alicia: Yes it is very difficult to get along with other inmates. A lot of them are there for a lot of bad reasons and a lot of them are very bad people with bad attitudes and angry.

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Alicia: The types of things I had to do to avoid problems or fights with the other inmates was to keep quiet. Also I tried to keep to myself. I also had to be very careful about eye contact as some gets offended if they catch you even looking at them.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Alicia: I was definently no able to choose an inmate as my cellmate even if i knew one, all choices are made by the jail of where and who I stayed with. Very rarely it would change.
