Inmates

Interview with Luke

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Luke: Yes.To many clashes of personalities. Everyone is in their for different reasons, some feel they are better than the next guy and deserve special treatment. But we all have the same goal I feel.To GET OUT!

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Luke: Mainly isolation, avoid people and their situations at all costs, give away property or food..every day brings a new battle. i feel it was best to stay in my cell and read and write. Its best to keep to yourself unless you know someone or make friends. My best advice is keep to yourself and dont gamble.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Luke: No,that is unacceptable. If you know someone it is best you stay reserve cause some jailers hol that against you. You are there to be punished, not to conversate or have tea time.Cellmates would change evry week or two.
