Visitor Policy

Interview with Nelson, Chris and Brad

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Nelson: Two visits per week with two people at a time.
Chris: twice a week. If there was issues and we had a lock down they would close visitatiuon for the day
Brad: Twice a week i could have visitors.for 20 minutes.through glass walls it is quite an ordeal

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Nelson: No, they don't really make it hard for the visitor.
Chris: YEs two hours. YOu had to be searched and signed in and wait for them to escort you in and the inmate had to be searched
Brad: Yes they would register to visit and then be assigned to a group then wait usually about an hour to be called up for the visit

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Nelson: You had to see the visitor through the plexiglass and talk either through holes in the glass or a phone.
Chris: dirty and overcrowded. There was nothing for the children to do and people would be arguing and the temperature was hot so people were aggravated and the vending machines were broke half the time and there was nothing to do but sit there and be stared at by everyone it was rough
Brad: The visiting environment was i ten by ten room thay had individual booths assigndd to each inmate but it is so loud in the visit room due to rude people or arguements that you had to yell over everyone else in order fot your people to hear you it was so bad i stopped doing it it was just to hectic
