JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Dan: no you had to be a level 3 to use the telephones in there
Hugh: They had telephones available for use if paid for
Wendy: I was only able to use the phone one time.
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Dan: we didn't need money to use the phone it was more of a point system once we got to level 3 we could use the phone 2 times a week i think they said it was
Hugh: The phone cards cost $10 for 3 20 minute calls average is 20 a week
Wendy: you have to place a collect call to talk to people and that's all I know.
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Dan: no we didn't have them
Hugh: Yes you had to buy cards off commissary
Wendy: I didn't have to buy a phone card.
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Dan: i think so because the officer would stand right next to you
Hugh: They screened all calls made
Wendy: the jail always screen your calls.
