Interview with Jen, Karen and Will
JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Jen: NO they would charge you outrageous prices for
even an aspirin
Karen: If was very difficult to get any kind of medical
attention.
Will: yes
JM: How did you get your medications?
Jen: a nurse would come at 7am to give them to you
Karen: I was not prescribed medicine at that time but
there was a nurse that would come by with a cart to
give inmates their medicine.
Will: They brought them to my cell at 5am and 9pm. The
rest of the pod had to stand by the main door
and the nurse would hand their out through a
slot in the door.
JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Jen: never came across that one except in booking and
it added up to an extra charge for that person
Karen: The inmate would be put in the hole for punishment.
I did not ever witness this, but I know there were
drugs being 'sold'.
