JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? Wyatt: You could bring in socks, underwear and plain
white tshirts. No other clothing was allowed in
the prison. Erica: black and white stripes this changed while iw as
there into bright orange. it was horrible
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Wyatt: Butler Countys uniform is the old fashioned
black and white striped shirt and pants. They
were made out of scrubs material, and were
always striped. We received 3 sets of the
uniform when we got to the block. Our shoes were
called white bobos. They were plain slip on
canvas shoes. You were allowed to bring in your
own white tennis shoes, but if you did not have
any you would wear the bobos. I was locked up
during the summer, so we were not issued any
winter coats or jackets. Erica: it felt like cardboard it was itchy and
uncomfortable. we wore a different shirt and
pants. they were like scrubs but super stiff and
uncomfortable.
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Wyatt: No, all of the clothes are standard and nothing
is in high demand. Everyone wears the same
thing. Erica: I don't understand this question we didn't have a
choice in what we wore.
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Wyatt: No, women and men wore the same striped pants
and shirts. Erica: no as far as I kmew the whole jail dressed the
same
