JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Kay: Yes, you could sign up for them once a day
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Kay: You had a to get a service called ITI. We spent
$800 in 3 months, and I called home 3 times a
week. My sons father is in jail and his ITI right
now to call me is $10 per call.
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Kay: No, my family bought them
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Kay: Yes they do all the time.
