Leisure Time

Interview with Tyler and Brooke

JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time?
Tyler: Not much of nothing. You could buy cards or dominoes. But there was no TV or weights or anything like that. They did have basketball outside but that was it.
Brooke: Theres 2 tv, a cart with books, go in the multipurpose room, you can go sit walk around or sit in the rec yard

JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details.
Tyler: If we had something there might have been a competition but that wasn't the case.
Brooke: Most of the time everyone agrees on what they wanna watch

JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail?
Tyler: I did calistenics. I never did weights so I was able to keep in shape that way.
Brooke: I walked when i felt like it, and we exercised in the pod i was in

JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise?
Tyler: Twice a week you could get outside.
Brooke: You cant actually go outside, you go on the rec yard and its a area two sides are windows and you can see inside the unit and the other two walls are closed in with open windows that are bars

JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held?
Tyler: There was some locals who came around on Tueday nights and they would stand outside the bars of the cell for some bible study if you wanted it.
Brooke: Yeah but I never went
