Clothing

Interview with Cyle, Caesar, Liz, Samuel, Nick and Teresa

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Cyle: Casual.
Caesar: Boxers and white tees were sold by commissary. They gave you a top and bottom. Maybe a shirt was provided, and of course, some slippers.
Liz: orange top and bottom with orange rubber sandals, white everything else. or trustee stripes
Samuel: Orange
Nick: underwear their jail pants and their jail shirt and clogs and socks the underwear and socks were mine
Teresa: The only clothes of your own allowed were solid white boxer shorts or briefs and solid white socks.

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Cyle: No, I wasn't held long enough.
Caesar: one Orange top and one bottom, for regular inmate, if lucky you got an orange t-shirt. Once a trustee, 2 black and white, or green and white striped uniform, you also got a 2 red shirts.(depending on your status).
Liz: I was outdoor trustee so I wore a red DCSO t shirt and a green and white striped top and bottoms. Also white socks, underwear, and chucks
Samuel: Yes orange jumpsuit
Nick: orange pants my underwear and socks, orange shirt and clogs for shoes, the underwear and socks were mine but the orange shirt and orange pants and clogs were theirs
Teresa: Yes there was a set uniform and it was a two piece jump suit and a pair of slip on rubber clog shoes. The pants and shirt were usually too big.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Cyle: Probably sweaters... It was so cold.
Liz: Trustee stripes, and converse look alikes or croc lookalikes
Nick: no everything i or anyone else had on was the same
Teresa: No you where what they give you and that is all.

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Cyle: Don't know.
Caesar: Not that i know of.
Liz: no
Samuel: No
Nick: no men and women wore the same everything
Teresa: No the clothing was not different.
