Jail Layout

Interview with Andres

JM: How many different blocks were there?
Andres: There were ten blocks total.

JM: Did they have names? If so, what were they?
Andres: Their names were A B C D E F G H I J.

JM: Which types of inmates were housed in the different blocks?
Andres: One block was for Trustees, which is a group of long timers who get jobs in the jail. Two blocks were for women. The rest were full of general population.

JM: What do you remember being the nicest and worst parts about the different blocks?
Andres: I was only ever in 2 of them, and nothing was particularly nice about them. It was jail. It sucked really bad. The general population blocks were all the same. Even had the same layout. There was one difference, some of them had better windows to watch stuff out of. I was never in those blocks.
