JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Craig: There was the tv. One small tv per pod. You could
purchase a radio with earphones. Once every 2
weeks they would take you outside to a basketball
court. Of course there was books to read and card
games to play. We would also walk around the pod
and talk.
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Craig: The tv was pretty much available all the time. If
we were fighting over the tv or changing the
channel a lot they would cut power to the tv. The
people watching tv had to all agree on a show to
watch otherwise you could go to your cell. The tv
was in the eating/social area of the pod.
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Craig: Yes, I gained 30 pounds while in jail. They were
suppose to let you outside to play basketball once
a week but they only let us out every 2 weeks for
1 hour.
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Craig: They were suppose to let you outside to play
basketball once a week but they only let us out
every 2 weeks for 1 hour. If not allowed to go
outside, the pods were big enough that you could
"fast" walk in in oval shape or do pushups in your
cell.
JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Craig: Yes the jail did offer church services on monday
evenings. However since I was in the medical pod I
was not allowed to attend church services.
