Interview with Don

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Don: yes we had a phone it would be turned off at 10 pm and turned back on at 8am

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Don: they calls were $1 a min and if u bought a phone card to call out it was then 75 cents a min then i would make a $15 phone card last 2 week wich is 20 mins the only people i would call was my dad an my grandparents

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Don: no you did not have to buy a phone card unless the person you were calling had a pre paid cell phone

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Don: yes jail did screen are calls and if they heard a noise it would end are phone call say that some one is trying to make a 3 way call
