JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process: Clayton: Generally When you are booked you are in custody 3
days and then get taken to court for your arraignment hearing.
During your arraignment your
given documents that state your charges and
offered a public defender, to act as your guide to
help you bullshit your way through the highly
flawed judicial system. If your not released on
(OR)own recognizance, Your then taken back to jail
to eagerly await your next court date.
JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested. Clayton: My home was raided by probation and the local drug
task force, They climbed through my window while
my girlfriend and I were in the shower, tore my
house apart, tried to manipulate my girlfriend and
I into thinking that we are ratting each other
out, only to find a small amout of meth and an ATM
check card that was "stolen" needless to say they
were pretty pissed off, I assume only due to the
number of cops and the questions asked were led to
believe I was running drugs and committing cyber
crimes.
JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall. Clayton: Court in itself is stressful, but generally once
you get over being ridiculed by the guards, bound
up like slaves and drove like cattle into the
courtroom its a breeze. The over worked and
overloaded Public Defender meets you for the first
time he asks you a few questions like how long you
lived in the city, work/living situation and if
you have family that depends on you. Basicly to
pitch a sob story to the judge to either
release(OR) you or reduce bail. If the Public
Defender wasnt able to Forrest Gump his way
through your file you get to find out if there are
any other charges slapped on you by the DA and
given a prelim date. This mind numbing and fucked
up process pretty much repeats itself exactly
every time... Every Damn Time.
JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of? Clayton: Original: Possesition of meth, Recieving Stolen
Property, Posessition of smoking device, Violation
of probation.
Actual: Same.
