Interview with Eric

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Eric: I was first held at the downtown Riverside Jail, Robert Presley Detention Center. I then was transferred to Banning. The pre- sentencing was done in a professional manner. Because I was arrested in a Friday night u was not seen until Wednesday. Sentencing was further delayed because my ex-wife wanted to make a statement.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Eric: I was arrested when I violated a restraining order when I went to try to see my son arty my ex-wife's apartment. I knocked on the door and did not receive any answer from her. Was not fully aware of the restraining order. As I went to leave the police showed up.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Eric: Court was okay. Very professional and fast. My only complaint is that I wish I had more opportunities to make statements on my behave. Also, my public defender was very misinformative throughout the process. I was very disappointed in how she answered my questions and left like she treated me like a car number to advance get career.

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Eric: Violating a domestic violent restraining order. I was charged with the original charges.
