Interview with Tom and Odessa

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Tom: yes because the guards start the bull shit and blame other inmates so they can lock them down
Odessa: yes at times you run across people with no manners poor hygiens or that are just not socailable witch causes tenchin in your housing area, but for the most part I had good people I knew from the streets with me.

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Tom: stay in you room and just aviod contact
Odessa: you have to avoid people with mental issues that are unstable or that have anger problems.some people don't care abot they,re people on the outside or just don't have no place outside so the cause problems or try to push people to loosing it on them so they don't get in trouble you do.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Tom: yes they do allow that at times
Odessa: the womens part of the jail are dorm settings but the officers knew me for the most and knew who would be ok to be housed by me or with me.
