Good Behavior

Interview with Louisa

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Louisa: No, I wasn't serving a sentence.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Louisa: If you are sentenced, they have what they call a 2 for 1. If you are sentenced to 60 days, you can do it in 30 days. It depends on what you have been arrested for. One girl was in there for theft and it was under $100, and she got 60 days but got 30 days credit. The judge has to order it.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Louisa: If you get in a fight or break rules you will start your sentence over and lose your time off.
