JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Joey: Television and cards are the biggest domenoes comes
next and u get out side time once a week if you are
lucky and they have enough guards to take u but if u
can u have basketball and some people choose to walk
for exercise but its mostly cards and tv
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Joey: Yes the competition is deff feirce with African
Americans in charge of most things due to there
quantity they run all gambling tables usually have
the remote and if you are lucky they won't keep the
cards in there room unless u buy ur own deck off the
commissary like I did
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Joey: Yes the foods they feed u are loaded with
carbohydrates so there very fattening and u don't
really have the ability to burn the calories
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Joey: If u were lucky u were able to go out side once a
week and play ball or just walk that's it other ways
inside are push ups sit up crunches and of course we
always made a water bag which is the equivalent to
small waited to do curles
JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Joey: Yes the jail offered church once a week and they
provided a bible and read scriptures and talked
about what they had read that day and how applys to
there life
