Interview with Victor

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Victor: Yes, the phones were accessible in the "foyer" area between the block and the outside. the was the phone and rash can between a set of bars and the Steele door.

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Victor: The calling cards WERE IN 5 DOLLAR INCREMENTS for about 10 minutes per 5 bucks, if i recall correctly. ON average I was spend about 20 bucks a week.

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Victor: NO it wasn't required, the calls were collect too.

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Victor: When they wanted to. they can see who is on the phone and know all that guy is going to do i Talk to his wife and argue and or cry. versus they are monitoring this drug dealer for more info. it depends.
