Good Behavior

Interview with Roderick and Liza

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Roderick: If you are actually given a prison sentence then you are able to get reduced time for every good day you put in. But if you are simply sitting out a county or municipal sentence then no, you don't get time off for good behavior although you can write your judge and ask for a sentence modification anytime and sometimes they actually DO release you or offer community corrections or work release as an alternative to doing straight time.
Liza: No

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Roderick: In Kansas inmates in the bureau of prisons receive 3 days knocked off their sentence for every 7 days of good behavior.
Liza: None that I know of

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Roderick: No fighting, no gang affiliations or rioting, no being in another section other than the one assigned to you, no paraphenilia, drugs or alcohol found during random shake downs, no tatooing or self mutilation, no disrespect of law enforcment personel.
Liza: Not sure
