Interview with Roderick and Liza

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Roderick: Long johns or thermal underwear, plain white t- shirts. Inmates are allowed to keep their white t-shirts, bras, underwear and socks when they go up to a pod. In booking they are allowed to keep their coats on until they are dressed out in a jumper.
Liza: Orange tops and pants

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Roderick: Yes, there are set uniforms. Most inmates are given orange jumpers. The womens are tops and bottoms and the mens are one piece. Inmates who are flagged from another inmate are put in green. And inmates who are on displinary detention are put in red one piece jumpers.
Liza: Yes a pumpkin

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Roderick: not really no. You just pretty much crossed your fingers and hoped you got something close to matching in color and something that didn't sag too much. The "in demand" clothing comes from inmates who are leaving and leave you their socks or tshirts and such.
Liza: no

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Roderick: Mens are one piece and womens two piece with the exception of women who are extra plus sizes and can't find pant bottoms to fit in which case they are given a jumper.
Liza: women had tops and pants men had jumpsuits
