Interview with Ashley

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Ashley: I got along by not getting into other people's buisnesses. I kept to myself during drama and kind ofblended it. I did become friendly with a few people and that helped getting on with the time....

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Ashley: I just kept to myself. Ii was friendly with people who also wanted to avoid conflict. I read alot and playedcard games..also spent alot of time talking with people. I stayed in my room when fights or drama was going on. I just didn't get invoved. There not many fights, if any while i was there.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Ashley: That i don't know...i knew no one. The whole time i was there I had 7 different roommates. I just went where I was told. It seemed like I was the one who was moved around.
