Good Behavior

Interview with Dale

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Dale: No, the Michigan department of corrections no longer has a "good time/good behavior" clause in their guidelines.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Dale: It depends on the county jail. But as stated before, this does not exist in the prison system.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Dale: In the county jail setting, you have to avoid any type of negative conduct to be considered for early release, and you cannot be serving time for a violent crime. No fighting, no gambling, no illegal contraband, etc. I have witnessed lots of people losing the possibility of an early release because of fighting and being in possession of contraband.
