Interview with Larry

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Larry: No most inmates i got along with fine as i am a really easy going and laid back person. Most of us had the understannding that we are there to do a bit of time and go home.

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Larry: Nothing really. I am concidered an old timer, so with that said most people leave me alone. That combined with my mentality I usually have no problems. Most of the inmates there were new to the jail scene and usually looked to the guys that had been doing time for a while for advice anyway.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Larry: Yes once i finally got to population they did allow us to choose our cellmates to a limited degree. We had a slow rotation in there as far as it goes cause the block i was in was for long timers.
