Pre-sentencing

Interview with Troy

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Troy: I violated my probation for non-payment. I wasn't paying the courts up to their standards so they remanded me to jail.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Troy: I reported to probation like usual, and I got handcuffed while I was at report. They transported me to the jail from there.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Troy: I went to court the next morning. I didn't see my judge but I saw Judge Shelton. I went again 2 days later. On the first hearing I had a $3000 bond. I already knew I wouldn't get out then because I wasn't seeing my own judge. On the second hearing I was sentenced to 30 days in jail or pay $500.

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Troy: My orgininal charges were Delivery and manufacturing of marijuana and that is what I was convicted of.
