Pre-sentencing

Interview with Tim

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Tim: There was not a pre-sentencing process. I was seen by the Judge by video court after spending a week in the Detention center. Being detained until a court date was set. I was there on a Failure to Appear Warrant for Possession of Paraphernalia. I was given a court date.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Tim: The Liberty Police Department did drive through warrant check in the apartment complex I was living in. the officer was outside talking to another person as I was getting ready to leave for work. the officer saw me and proceeded to question me and ask for I.D. I had to go back in to get it.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Tim: i was seen by the Judge by video court after being given a court date by the Clay County Detention Center. I was among six or seven others that had the same court date. The Judge was as cordial as he could be and was understanding. I was givin time served and case dismissed.

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Tim: Possession of Paraphernalia. No registration.
