JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't. Adam: In jail, like in prison for the most part your either a wolf or a
sheep. Of you try to fake it and hope for the best. During my last
month in prison, I was sexually assaulted multiple times. The
guards don't do their jobs correctly nor do they provided a safe
environment. They are too busy bring in drugs or allowing the to
be smuggled in by visitors. I have witnessed both occuring on
multiple occasions.
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates? Adam: Keep to myslf mostly, stay in my cell for long periods of time
either sleeping or reading. Both of which get old fast, and also
draws the wrong kind of attention after awhile. There really is no
other option in prison/jail other than trying to find a few people
you get along with and hope for the best. Meaning you hope the
won't stab you in the back in any number of ways in a prison
mentality setting. Its a risk either way but the environment
leaves you no rela options or time in which to decide your best
possible course.
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change? Adam: Not really. Maybe 2-5 times a year as they were moved,
released or relocated. There is probably a 30% chance you will
get along with a random cell mate and a 70% chance there will
be issues of one nature or another.
