Medications

Interview with Adam

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Adam: Sometimes, unless it was an emergency. If you missed a medication dose you would get written up as I did on kore than one occassion because I was on sleeping meds that screwed me up every morning and would regularly miss breakfast and starve until lunch if I didn't miss that meal as well.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Adam: I had to walk from my pod or wherever I was to the main entrance where the medical wing was at the time I was supposed to get them.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Adam: Not sure due to a lack of punishment for that offense. But, after witnessing a few incidents they generally tossed the cell while the prisoners stood/sat outside their room in handcuffs, they were then led to the lockdown unit and would stay a certain length of time there if they were combative on the way or during that particular stay.
