Telephones

Interview with Todd

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Todd: They had 2 phones in the pod that were turned on pretty much most of the day. They turned them off at night at lights out.

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Todd: It was like a prepaid account you had to have money on. I think it was two dollars a call.

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Todd: You had to put money of your credit account and they would charge you back.

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Todd: Probably.
