Pre-sentencing

Interview with Andrew and Jeremy

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Andrew: I was arrested. Went to lock up and held there until my trial. That was 11 months waiting for a trial.
Jeremy: Just sat in jail in Chemung County until I made a plea bargain.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Andrew: They arrested me for drug charge. When I was arrested before for a murder charge that I didn't commit, I got off of that and then the stress drove me into drugs which led to selling.
Jeremy: No, I was arrested at a riverside by a search team.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Andrew: There was no trial. I plead out.
Jeremy: Court was the usual, the lawyer did all the talking and defendants just nod sheeplike and say "yes sir..."

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Andrew: The orignal charge was for multiple counts of sales of drugs. I ended up pleading to one count of possession of cocaine which was a A-2 Felony.
Jeremy: Assault 2nd, Burg. 3rd
