JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process: Mike: Well when i did time in madison county jail i
wasa arrested in january of 2007. I never got
sentenced untill june of 2007. Dont really know
much about what the court appointed lawyer did
but i know he pretty much worked a deal with the
DA and i ended up recieving a county year which
was 8 months time served.
JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested. Mike: Well no police ever came to my house i actually
was arrested while trying to sneak home wasted
with 350 dollars worth of quarters in my coat
and pants pockets after i robbed a residence of
the quarters. i was 18 years old at the time and
had a bad alcohol problem.
JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall. Mike: Court was pretty much everyime i went a room
full of people from the community that were all
there for charges from petty parking tickets to
felony assults and such. i remember as i was
sentenced i was placed in the front of the court
room and handcuffed and left to sit in front of
everyone untill court was over. pretty
embarassing if you ask me but did it to myself i
guess.
JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of? Mike: I was charged with numerous charges. second
degree Burglary petty larceny. i also was
arrested for a DWI about a week after charged
wtih that. i ended up pleading both cases
together they made me guilty to DWI didnt get a
plea on that which i should of. i plead guilty
to second degree criminal tresspassing.
