Interview with Sheila
JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Sheila: Sometimes there were so many different
personalities and different circumstances that I
had to feel about out about certain inmates
before I would talk to them or even ask a question
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Sheila: The best thing to do was mind you own business
and do not get involved in gossip. Be yourself
and do not try I act like you are a tough guy
because that is how fights start everyone thinks
they have something to approve. I did not
eavesdrop on conversations
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Sheila: No I was not able to choose a cellmate even if I
knew one and wanted to unless you were the
officers pet inmate. I had three different cell
mates
