Inmates

Interview with Neal

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Neal: I HAD ALOT OF FRIENDS IN THEIR THAT I KNEW, AND I GOT ALONE WITH EVERYONE THERE. HAD NO TROUBLE AT ALL. I ALSO KNEW SOME OF THE JAILERS AS WELL.

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Neal: I STAYED BY MYSELF IN MY CELL AND DO A PUZZLE AND WRITING LETTER. I ALSO JUST LAID DOWN AND REST AND JUST WAITED FOR THE FOOD WAGON TO COME. I ALSO JUST WATCH TV AND JUST KEPT QUITE AND MINE MY OWN BUSINESS SO THEY WOULDN,T BOTHER ME AND GET INTO A FIGHT

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Neal: WE DIDN,T HAVE CELLMATES. OUR JAIL HAS SINGLE CELLS, 1 INMATE TO A ROOM, IF IT IS FULL THEY SLEEP ON THE FLOOR IN THE DAYROOM. THEIR POLICY IS NO 2 INMATES TO A CELL.
