Inmates

Interview with Ron

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Ron: I found it was difficult to get along with other inmates, because everyone wanted to be a tough guy also they wanted to be respected as a bad guy. I didn't care for their attitude.

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Ron: I stayed out of the gym where most of the fights were being created. so the types of things you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates is stay your distance, hang out in your recreation area, play cards or belong to a prayer group you might create inside.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Ron: We had our own cell, there was no else bunking up with you in those days. so I could not choose an inmate as your cellmate, but if I had a choice I did not want one anyways.
