Leisure Time

Interview with Raymond

JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time?
Raymond: If somebody buys a deck of cards, you have cards. That's about it.

JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details.
Raymond: Had one tv that got about four channales. Whoever was big enough got to pick what to watch.

JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail?
Raymond: I could do push ups. They had a little gym room which had a ping pong table and a bar for pull ups but they never took us in thier either.

JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise?
Raymond: Never. There's not even a window.

JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held?
Raymond: Yeah, they had some church type of service every Wednesday when a minsiter came in and you could spend time with him and he'd give you a bible if you wanted.
