Inmates

Interview with Micah and Kenneth

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Micah: No. I kept to myself for the most parts. you learn after being there a while who to stay away from.
Kenneth: It wasn't difficult because i knew alot of people in there so no it wasn't difficult at all but it was difficult for some people in there if they didn't know anyone

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Micah: Keep your mouth shut. Some inmates will try to start a fight because they are bored, but if you keep quiet they won't do anything.
Kenneth: I never had a fight but i did have some arguments in there it's always fights and disagreements when it's a bunch of grown men in one small holding cell it's always fights but if you know alot of people you will be ok sometimes jail is bad period yea!

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Micah: No. I was in a 50 woman tank.
Kenneth: No you can't choose what inmates are your cellmates they put you where ever they want to put you and your cellmates will change everyday because when somebody gets out of jail they bring a new person in.
