Pre-sentencing

Interview with edward, Joe and Beebs

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
edward: you sit inside your cell or block until it is your time to go before the court
Joe: this can take days to months depending on your case. i made bail in all my cases and then spent months going to court. but if you get arrested and go to court and just plead guilty then you can be sentenced and released within 2 weeks depending on the case
Beebs: Took 3 weeks to go to court. Plead guilty right away.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
edward: no i had warrants for traffic fines
Joe: no i mainly just have dui charges
Beebs: No. I was pulled over with a suspended license

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
edward: pretty quick process although i thought the judge was rather harsh on me and the others going before him
Joe: spent a long time in court many times. the courts just want money out of us it seems.
Beebs: I got lucky to have a stand in judge from seattle and the prosecutor was my old defense attorney. Quick process and only a month

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Beebs: Suspended license, poss. Of marijuana. Convicted of both.
